Welcome to my on-line handout for the NETA 2006 Spring Conference presentation: Technology and the Visual Arts. Please use the links below to access information about each topic. The NETA presentation showed you the final product. These pages will show you how to use "Technology to Make Learning Fun" in your classroom! Although I teach grades 1 - 8, these projects and tools are suitable for use with high school students. The subject matter and focus would, of course, be taken to the next level.

I
have enjoyed being the Art Teacher at St. Joseph School in Lincoln since 1992. I am
grateful for the support of the administration and parents of our school, and for the
enthusiasm and creativity of my students. Contact me at patti-rose@stjosephlnk.org St. Joseph School,

The Best Buy's Children's Foundation is proud to support schools and educators using technology to make learning fun. The te@ch program awards $2500 grants to schools in recognition of programs or projects that creatively integrate interactive technology into the curriculum. The Visual Arts Program at St. Joseph School won this award in 2004! With this generous gift, we were able to purchase a new multimedia computer and a new digital camcorder. In January 2004, $2.9 million was awarded to schools across the country.

The computer specialists at our local Best Buy helped me select the Sony Vaio pictured above. It is a SWEET machine! The Sony digital camcorder was also purchased with funds from the Best Buy grant, along with the software described on this page.
